Microsoft Corp. today bought the domain name bigrock.com for $9.5 million.
The online advertising giant acquired the domain after bidding for it from a Canadian firm, and the deal is subject to customary closing conditions, according to the announcement from Microsoft.
Bigrock.COM is the first name of a popular social media website that allows users to post comments and links to their favorite content.
The company was founded in 2003 and boasts nearly 2 million users.
