TechCrunch article TechNews.com – Google Inc. on Thursday (March 18) acquired a domain name for $1.3 million from a business in Germany that specializes in “retail” online auctions.
Arvije.de, which is operated by a German company called Arvix, has been the primary seller of domain names for several years, including for the domain name arvij.de and the “Auctioneers” site.
The German company was not immediately available for comment.
ArVixe.se, a German search engine, purchased the domain in October 2015 for $10.6 million.
The deal was finalized in January.
